Welcome to Scythia (Skythia) - a vast geographical region that encompassed both the Pontic-Caspian grasslands and foreststeppes (in parts, hither & yon, in the modern-day Ukraine, Crimea, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and southern Russia) and the northern Caucasus area, and at times stretched even as far north as Southern Siberia and east to the Altai-Mountains in Central-Asia.

How Large Was the Area in Which Proto-Indo-European Was Spoken

(from GeoCurrents)
(Article written by Professor of Historical Geography, Martin W. Lewis, Stanford University)

PUBLISHED, EDITED, SOME IMAGES ADDED & COMMENTARY (IN RED) BY KENNETH S. DOIG

As the current series on the origin and expansion of the Indo-European languages nears its completion, only a few remaining issues need to be discussed. Today’s post examines once again the mapping by Bouckaert et al. of the area likely occupied by the speakers of Proto-Indo-European (PIE).

"The Black-Sea Origins of the English" Part II

Published, formatted, edited (not yet completed), fact-checked (not yet completed) & annotated (in red - not yet completed) by Kenneth S. Doig

The Engle or Anglii (Latin) – Angles

The Engle lived in southern Jutland and worshiped the Nerthus (Niörðr in Old-WestNorse, *Nerþuz in PGmc) or Earth Mother. Their land was called Angeln. They were known for their ability to fish (where angling comes from.) And one can see how the Angles and Saxons fed off each other. Universal Map 30293 119 Roman Empire and Germanic Migrations - C. 400CE (Google Affiliate Ad)

The Angles providing fish and boats, the Saxons keeping the region safe to the south. They practiced sacrifice of animals which were often thrown into bogs.

Unfortunately for their owners the expensive horse tack etc often went too! They, like the Saxons, worshiped Woden.

Introduction
Many people have questioned who the English really are and where they come from. This timeline sets out to answer that. The English are a Germanic race of people.

Engles (sic, read Angles), Jutes and Saxons. It finds the English to be a very old people indeed. It explains some of the mysteries about the origins of the ethnic English. And tells of where some of the ancient symbolism and old myths comes from.

The White Dragon, Woden (Wotan,) (from Proto-Germanic "PGmc", *Wōđanaz or *Wōđinaz)  and the Steadfast sword. It takes about 20 minutes to read. I suggest that it will be a valuable read indeed.

The First English and their ancient origins – a Scythian race? (Scythian or, better yet,'Skythian', should be, if one wants to be somewhat linguistically historically more accurate, pronounced /SKITH-ee-uhn/, the /-th-/ being the voiceless-dental spirant, [IPA, theta/, i.e., an aspirated voiceless alveolar spirant, virtually identical to the English word's /t/ in "top". In ancient Greek, theta was not pronounced as it is today, both in modern-Greek & English.
[{text in green, from Wikipedia} Theta (uppercase Θ, lowercase θ or cursive ϑ; Ancient Greek: θῆτα, thē̂ta, [tʰɛ̂ːta]; Modern: θήτα, thī́ta, [ˈθita]; UK /ˈθtə/, US /ˈθtə/) is the eighth letter of the Greek alphabet, derived from the Phoenician letter teth . In the system of Greek numerals it has a value of 9.]K.Doig) The source stories of both the English and Scandinavian cultures claim that the Kings of both peoples originated from families which came out of ancient Black Sea/Macedonian tribes. Collectively they are known as the people of Allfather from the Middle Enclosure. The English stories claim descent from ancient Troy.

The 'k' after the 's' is pronounced) from Greek Σκύθης, Σκύθοι), or Scyths /ˈsɪθ/, were an ethnolinguistic group of ancient Iranian (the Iranian languages were Indo-European [IE]along with; Germanic [English, German, Swedish, etc.], Celtic [Gaelic, Welsh, Gaulish, etc.], Balto-Slavic [Lithuanian, Latvian, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Polish, etc.], Indo-Iranian or Indo-Aryan [Farsi/Persian, other Iranic tongues, Ossetian, Pashto, Kurdish, Skythian, etc. Indic [Punjabi, Hindi, Sanksrit, Urdu, etc.], Hellenic [Greek], Armenian, Albanian, just to name a few) nomadic tribal cultures living in Scythia, the region encompassing the Pontic-Caspian steppe (in Eastern Europe) and parts of Central-Asia throughout the Classical Antiquity.

                             C. 1000 BC
Much of the surviving information about the Scythians (Skyths or Skythians) comes from the Greek historian Herodotus (c. 440 BC) in his Histories and Ovid in his poem of exile Epistulae ex Ponto, and archaeologically from the exquisite goldwork found in Scythian burial mounds in Ukraine and Southern Russia.

Two of the largest Scythian tribal confederations were the Sarmatians of Western Scythia and the Amyrgians of Eastern Scythia. In a broader sense, the name "Scythian" has also been used to refer to various peoples seen as similar to the Scythians, or who lived anywhere in the area known as Scythia.

The blond singer is cute and she looks like a Hallstatt/Swedish-type-Nordic. The entire population is Nordic, but it's not just light hair, eyes and skin that makes a person Nordic, it is also facial structure, head shape, cranial dimensions, cephalic indices, etc. A person could be a Germanic Hallstatt-Nordic and have brown hair and eyes, about 5 % of pure ethnic Hallstatt-swedes have such coloring.
